
Assistant Head Teacher

What you’ll be doing:
- Teaching an agreed number of lessons and undertaking all relevant duties of a class teacher while acting in that capacity.
- Taking a leading role in the day-to-day management of the school.
- Implementing, enforcing and exhibiting model adherence to all school policies and procedures.
- Attending and contributing to all meetings of the staff cohort and the SLT.
- Planning and chairing meetings where necessary.
What we’re looking for:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A relevant leadership qualification is desirable
- At least one year of proven successful leadership and management experience in a school.
- Experience of analysing data and using it to inform future practice.
- Line management experience
- Experience of leading on whole-school initiatives and raising standards that have impacted positively on pupils and teaching and learning
- Experience of working with children with SEND and ASC is ideal but applications from those working in mainstream settings are very welcome

Who are we?
Mapesbury School is our new Special Educational Needs school in Cricklewood, Brent. Our small school supports children aged between 7 to 16 years with Autism and associated conditions who have not been able to access education in a mainstream or specialist setting and would benefit from an integrated therapeutic approach to education. Pupils will have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) but may not yet have a diagnosis, though they display traits of Autism and associated conditions.
Mapesbury School is part of Kedleston Group. We specialise in providing specialist education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These include autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

Salary range
- £61,553 - £71,325 per year
