    What is the job role?

This is an exciting chance to join Coventry City Council’s Events Team and help deliver brilliant events for residents and visitors across the city. You’ll support a busy programme of public events and work with community groups to bring their ideas to life. The role is fast‑paced and varied, providing essential administrative and organisational support to keep events running smoothly. You’ll liaise with suppliers, artists and performers, manage contracts and agreements, handle financial processes, and help coordinate schedules, rotas and event plans.

You’ll work closely with the Communications Team to support media and social content, and with our ticketing provider to track sales. When events go live, you’ll be on site helping with operations, answering public enquiries, coordinating logistics and ensuring everything runs safely and efficiently. You’ll also contribute to reports and analysis that support Council priorities and work collaboratively with teams across Culture, Sport and Events and the wider Council.

If you’re organised, enthusiastic and ready to play a part in delivering some of Coventry’s most exciting events, we’d love to hear from you.

All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.

    Who are we looking for?

This role will demand weekend and anti-social hours working, but it will be great fun!

    You should have:

    • Strong organisational skills to manage event schedules, timelines, and logistics.
    • Proficiency in handling event documentation, including contracts, permits, and supplier agreements.
    • Experience in maintaining financial records, processing invoices, and updating budgets.
    • Good experience and skills with spreadsheets. Ability to update and maintain event planning spreadsheets and other tracking systems.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for liaising with colleagues, suppliers, and event stakeholders.
    • Attention to detail in managing event-related data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

This is not an exhaustive list of expectations, roles and responsibilities, and as an Events Team, all staff will be expected to support each other's work.

If this sounds like the perfect next step in your career, then we would love to hear from you.

    Working Patterns and Posts

This is a full-time post based in the Council’s One Friargate office, 37 hours per week, with a requirement to work flexibly in relation to hours, including unsociable hours, evenings, weekends and occasional overnight stays. As an Events team, we plan to work in the office on set days; otherwise, the role can be hybrid.
