
Assistant Asset Surveyor
We are recruiting for Assistant Asset Surveyors at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 Hours (7.24 Monday – Friday)
Contract Type: Full Time/ Fixed Term for 2 Years
Location: Ty Penallta
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Caerphilly Homes Asset Team.
We pay an attractive salary of £30,559 - £33,366 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
We are looking for 2 Assistant Asset Surveyors to support our in-house Asset team. You will have a great understanding of property construction, planned maintenance, and experience in working in Social Housing.
You must be proactive and have a driven approach to work. You will have a keen eye for detail and be methodical in your approach, with excellent numeracy and literacy skills, and excel at report writing and attention to detail is key.
The sector faces many challenges to make their property portfolio work harder. Provision for high quality homes, management of investment programmes, ensuring value for money, carbon reduction, energy efficiency, sustainability and appraisals of underperforming properties are all areas you will be involved in.
The successful applicants will be supported to gain the knowledge and experience to progress to Asset Surveyors through on site learning and formal education.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- A relevant Level 3 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example NVQ in Building / Construction.
- A Level 3 City and Guilds Energy Assessment Course (6361) to be an Accredited Domestic Energy Assessor and produce Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) or required to achieve following appointment.
- Experience of working in a building maintenance, repair service or equivalent business environment.
- A full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend site inspections, visit clients and attend meetings.
