    About the role

We are looking for a capable and organised Assistant Business Support Officer to join our Assistive Technology Service on a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2027.

This is a varied, office-based role that supports the delivery of assistive technology services to adults across the community. You will provide administrative and customer support, helping to ensure that customers receive the equipment and assistance they need to remain safe, independent, and connected within their own homes.

Working as part of a busy team, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the service and delivering a high-quality customer experience. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative, organisational, and customer service skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and making a positive difference to the lives of adults with support needs.

    Additional information

We are looking for someone with excellent organisational and administrative skills who is able to manage a varied workload and work accurately in a busy environment. You will be confident using IT systems, have a strong eye for detail, and be committed to providing a high standard of customer service.

A minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Business Administration, Administration, or an equivalent qualification is essential. You should have experience of administrative processes and be able to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, professionals, and partner organisations through digital platforms and email.

You will be a proactive team player with a professional and customer-focused approach, capable of handling sensitive information with discretion and maintaining accurate records. Experience of working in a business support, administrative, customer service, or public sector environment would be advantageous.

The role is office-based and works to support the needs of the service. The post is for 16 hours per week, with the working pattern to be agreed with the successful candidate. Hours can be worked flexibly between 8:00 am and 4:45 pm, Monday to Friday, subject to service requirements.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a Children and Adults Barred List check. West Northamptonshire Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Please note that we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK at the time of application.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should a sufficient number of suitable applications be received. Therefore, we encourage interested candidates to submit their application as soon as possible.
