Assistant Accountant

High Peak Borough Council and Staffordshire Moorlands District Council share a workforce delivering services to two distinct areas with their own priorities and financial reporting.

Salary: £33,673 - £36,581 per annum

Full time 37 hours per week

Permanent contract

Work location:Combination of office locations in Leek and Buxton and Agile working in line with business need

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join the Finance team at High Peak Borough Council (HPBC) and Staffordshire Moorlands District Council (SMDC) as an Assistant Accountant. This is a full-time permanent position with the finance team primarily providing financial data and interpretation for budgeting, monitoring and commentary to management and budget holders and Member reporting. In addition, there will be responsibilities for control reconciliations, closure of accounts tasks and system administrative functions.

The role is pivotal to the Councils' Business Partnering approach underpinning the spirit of robust financial support which the team provides to the wide range of services and functions delivered by the Councils.

The role would suit a candidate with significant experience and participation in a Finance team or related field. An AAT or part-CCAB qualification would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will be employed by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, contractual work base is Moorlands House however will be expected to travel across all Alliance geographical locations.
