Are you passionate about data integrity, system development, and using information to drive meaningful change? Brighton & Hove City Council is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Asset Management Officer (Data) to join our Housing Investment & Asset Management (HIAM) team. This is a key role that supports the effective management of our housing property portfolio by ensuring the accuracy, accessibility, and strategic use of property data.
As the central custodian of our compliance registers and property information systems, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining statutory data, supporting performance monitoring, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the service. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Housing and Repairs & Maintenance, providing expert advice, generating insightful reports, and ensuring our systems meet both operational needs and regulatory standards.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong technical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for continuous improvement. You’ll support on the development of new IT systems, support public transparency through digital publication, and help shape the future of asset management in one of the UK’s most vibrant and diverse cities.

About the role
Thank you for your interest in the role of Asset Management Officer (Data) within our Housing Investment & Asset Management (HIAM) team, This is a key position that underpins the council’s ability to manage its housing property portfolio effectively, ensuring that data is not only accurate and compliant but also strategically valuable. You’ll be joining a team that plays a vital role in enabling data-driven decision-making, supporting both operational delivery and long-term planning.
As the central custodian of property data, you’ll be responsible for maintaining statutory compliance registers, administering and developing asset management systems, and transforming raw data into actionable insights. Your work will support performance monitoring, planned maintenance coordination, and public transparency through digital publication. You’ll also lead on the development of new IT systems, provide training to colleagues in line with GDPR regulations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on detail, innovation, and collaboration—someone who can turn complex datasets into meaningful outcomes that improve services and support our residents.

Additional information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

Salary range
- £32,061 - £33,699 per year
