    What You’ll Be Doing

    Join Camden's dynamic Legal Services team, where you’ll play a critical role in breaking down barriers while embracing a risk-aware approach. You'll engage with senior officers and Members to offer high-quality legal services, with a focus on social justice. Collaborate closely with various service directorates to ensure efficient delivery of Council priorities, all while managing a personal caseload that includes high-profile and complex cases. Become a trusted advisor, advocate, and problem solver as you contribute to Camden's vision of innovative, responsive legal solutions.

    We’re looking for a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives with experience in Adult Social Care. You should possess a robust understanding of local government law, and have hands-on experience in preparing cases and drafting legal documents. Your professional confidence will shine through as you lead on challenging cases and provide high-level advice. With excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit, you’re ready to engage with our clients and stakeholders. Your proactive nature and creative mindset will help shape the future of legal services in Camden.

    You will also have excellent demonstrable detailed knowledge of the law and procedure, in particular:

    • Experience of conducting all types of litigation in relation to the welfare and property of vulnerable adults including applications to the Court of Protection and Judicial Review
    • Experience of providing detailed advice to clients both in writing and orally in relation to the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983 and Mental Capacity Act 2005
    • Experience of reviewing client evidence statements
    • Willingness to attend court hearings and provide advocacy, where appropriate.
