About the role

Are you passionate about trees, urban green spaces, and making a lasting impact on your local environment? We are seeking a dedicated Arboriculture Officer to help manage and enhance our town’s diverse tree stock across parks, open spaces, public and housing land.

As Arboriculture Officer, you will play a key role in:

  • inspecting and assessing the health and safety of trees across the borough
  • managing tree works and contracts, ensuring compliance with best practice and legislation
  • advising on insurance and development proposals affecting trees
  • supporting biodiversity and climate resilience through sustainable tree management
  • co-ordinating the delivery of tree planting schemes and biodiversity initiatives
  • engaging with residents, contractors, and internal teams to promote tree care and awareness
  • providing advice, guidance and support to colleagues within the Council to deliver tree works and enhance the safety of Crawley residents

Additional information

37 hours per week: 7am to 3pm Monday to Thursday and 7am to 2.30pm Friday.

A flexible approach to these hours based on the demand of the service is expected and a TOIL system is in place to cover extra hours worked.

Occasional evening and weekend working may be required.

Essential User Car user allowance.

A full and current UK driving licence will be a requirement of the role.
