    Job introduction

    Brighton & Hove City Council’s Parking Services have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our Strategy and Contracts Team whilst gaining a Level 3 Data Technician apprenticeship qualification. The team are responsible for analysing and reporting on a large variety of data.

    You will be supported on the Level 3 Data Technician apprenticeship so you can develop your skills and apply your learning in the role.

    About the role

    This exciting opportunity will involve all aspects of being a data technician to provide efficient and effective support to the team.

    The Data Technician at level 3 is run by Chichester College Group who is responsible for supporting you with your learning and carrying out assessments. The course will be delivered virtually and has a number core modules to complete. Your work experience will be linked to the modules and units in your course and you will have additional learning opportunities in the workplace. You will receive additional support from a nominated mentor, throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship.

    Apprentices will gain knowledge in all the areas outlined in the apprenticeship standard including cleansing, manipulating and evaluating data, data analysis, tools and techniques to identify patterns, communication and Legal and Regulatory requirements. You will need to be organised and manage your own time, be able to work independently as well as with a range of internal and external customers.

    The successful applicant will gain invaluable experience in the workplace in applying and putting this learning in practice whilst building and developing relationships with colleagues, customers and other stakeholders and working in a team to meet the requirements of the service.

    Apprenticeship duration

    Your apprenticeship will last c27 months. This may be amended if you have any applicable prior learning. Your contract will end on successful completion of the apprenticeship.

    Additional information

    Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

These would be part of your individual working arrangements alongside any personal preference agreed with your manager in advance of joining. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team and travel to and from your contractual location would be at your own expense.
