About the Team:
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and experience by working as an Apprentice in the Community Services team at Lambeth Council. Apprenticeships give you the opportunity and support to develop new work-placed skills by putting training into practice in your job.
The post holder will be working within a small team of venues and community officers who are based on site at Brockwell Hall, and within the wider Community Services division at Lambeth Council.
The role will also involve working collaboratively with other Lambeth Council teams, with community organisations based in Brockwell Park and working alongside a developing team of dedicated volunteers.
About the Role:
This role will be based on site in Brockwell Hall – a heritage building at the centre of Brockwell Park which has recently been restored thanks to funding from National Lottery Heritage Fund and Lambeth Council. The Hall has a café, exhibition space, large events space and space for community hire.
Your role will be to support staff in the delivery of the Activity Plan at Brockwell Hall which outlines a series of events, activities and volunteering to engage the whole community with the Hall and provide benefits to people and the community.
The post holder will receive training and support during working hours (on average 6 hour per week is spent on training), to develop the skills needed to coordinate a community activity programme and supervise and support volunteers.
The role is seeking someone who is passionate about supporting delivery of community and heritage activities with learning, wellbeing, creative and cultural outcomes which can attract a diverse range of audiences who live around Brockwell Park.
Working with the public, using effective, positive communication is an important part of this role. It is also desirable for the post holder to be confident in using social media to support communications about the activity programme.
Successful candidates will need to be available for some evening and weekend work to support events and activities.

Eligibility
UK government funding rules require that to do an apprenticeship you must:

be 16 or over at the start of the apprenticeship
-
live in England
-
not be in full-time education and,
-
have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the apprenticeship.

You cannot claim funding if you already have a qualification in the same subject at the same level or have significant experience.
The incumbent must meet the minimum skill level to undertake the level 3 apprenticeship. This will be determined by an initial assessment from the training provider usually assessing current working literacy and numeracy skill levels. The offer of employment is conditional on candidates meeting this minimum requirement otherwise the offer will be withdrawn.
