The Governing Body are seeking to appoint an experienced, highly motivated, enthusiastic, hands-on Before and After School Club Supervisor to lead our very popular ‘Early Birds and Night Owls’ wraparound provision. Breakfast club and After School Club both offer 70 places and are often oversubscribed. We foster a caring and welcoming ethos which is commented upon by many visitors and parents/carers.

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate a good understanding of caring for children aged 3 – 11 in a play based setting. You will be instrumental in ensuring both our Before and After School Club provide outstanding out of school provision.

You will lead a team of well-established staff to provide high quality, engaging activities for the children who attend. You will also be expected to ensure safeguarding is compliant and will also be required to maintain a flexible approach to duties and working hours, together with a willingness to be involved in the wider life of the school, as and when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership: Supervise the day-to-day operations of the wraparound care, ensuring a safe, engaging and fun environment.

Child Safety: Ensuring all safeguarding and health & safety policies are adhered to and up to date.

Team Leadership: Lead, motivate and supervise a team of play workers.

Activity Planning: Plan, deliver and join in with creative, fun and varied play-based activities for children aged 3 – 11.

Parent Liaison: Liaise with school staff and parents to ensure smooth transition and build positive relationships with parents and carers.

Administration: Manage attendance registers, bookings and ensure all fees are paid, ordering food on a weekly basis and planning healthy snacks.

Person Specification

Qualification: Level 3 Childcare/Playworker qualification of equivalent is required.

Experience: Proven experience in a school, early years, or a childcare setting.

Team Leadership: Supervising club staff to ensure a high standard of care at all times.

Compliance: Knowledge of safeguarding, food safety and health and safety regulations, first aid training.

Communication: Excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
