What is the job role?

Allesley Primary School are seeking to appoint several Playworkers to join our before and after school provision team (Bluebirds) in September 2026. Our experienced team are passionate about providing high-quality care for children who take care of children from across the school, keeping them safe, cared for and entertained before and at the end of normal school day.

The working hours for this role are: 7:30am-9:00am and 3:00pm-5:30pm,

Monday to Friday.

We are happy to accept applications for either the morning or afternoon

session only, but please make this clear on your application.


We are seeking enthusiastic Playworkers who enjoy supporting children and working collaboratively with the school team. One of the positions will require the successful candidate to have an Early Years Level 3 qualification.

Someone who can:

  • Be a dedicated, reliable professional with the ability to engage children
  • Set high standards for themselves and others
  • Pro-active team player with good interpersonal skills and able to multi-task in a busy environment
  • Creative, motivated, innovative and able to think 'outside the box'
  • Able and willing to work in a team and contribute to the wider life of the school in a caring and professional manner
  • Able to lead, used their own initiative and encourage pupil growth and development
