    Salary range: £55,520 - £59,766 (+ £2431 Outer London Allowance) pro rata
    Contract Type: Part time 0.5 FTE

    Are you passionate about inclusive education and making a difference in the lives of children and young people with physical disabilities and complex medical needs?

    We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Advisory Teacher to join our Physical and Sensory Support Team within the SEND Education Support Service (SENDESS). This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping inclusive practices across early years settings, schools, and colleges in Havering.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Provide expert advice, coaching, and training to schools and SENCOs on inclusive practices and Havering’s SEND procedures.
    • Support children and young people with physical disabilities, medical needs, and complex SEND directly in educational settings.
    • Contribute to Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments.
    • Promote person-centred planning and ensure the voice of the child is central to all support.
    • Collaborate with professionals across education, health, and social care to deliver cohesive, family-centred support.
    • Play an active part on the use of Assistive Technology (AT) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) tools.
    • Deliver training on adapted PE, risk assessments, medical management, and more.

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with further qualifications or CPD in SEND.
    • Proven experience supporting children with physical disabilities, medical needs, and using AAC/AT.
    • Strong understanding of the Social Model of Disability and inclusive education.
    • Excellent communication and partnership-working skills.
    • A solution-focused, empathetic, and proactive approach.
