We are seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Admissions Officer to support the effective admission and transfer of pupils across Luton schools.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing key administrative processes related to school admissions and pupil transfers, ensuring all applications are handled accurately and efficiently.

You will work in line with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, meeting strict timescales while helping to ensure a fair, consistent, and compliant admissions process for all families.

Please note this role does not attract sponsorship.

About you

We are looking for a calm, professional, and resilient Admissions Officer who can communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. This includes working politely and tactfully with parents, Headteachers, Council Members, and senior colleagues, even in challenging or sensitive situations, both over the phone and face to face.

The role requires the ability to work well under pressure, balancing competing priorities and meeting tight deadlines. You will be confident in responding to complex enquiries and complaints in writing, using clear and professional language at all times.

You will have strong administrative and IT skills, including word processing and maintaining databases and spreadsheets, and be comfortable working within established policies and procedures. A methodical and accurate approach to work is essential.

Strong numeracy skills are required, along with the ability to quickly understand complex information and explain it clearly to others. You will also demonstrate an understanding of equality and the impact of discrimination on service delivery.

A Business Administration Level 2 or 3 qualification, or equivalent relevant experience, is essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team.

This is a public facing role so you’ll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English.

If you’re organised, people-focused, and ready to make a meaningful difference to families and schools in your community, we’d love to hear from you - apply today.
