
Admin Assistant - Coundon Primary School
As our School Administrative Assistant, you will be a key member of our school office team and play an important role in the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of Coundon Primary School.
You will often be the first point of contact for pupils, parents, prospective families, visitors and members of the wider community. As such, you will be instrumental in creating that all-important first impression of our school, providing a warm, welcoming and highly professional service to everyone who contacts or visits us.
This is a busy, varied and rewarding role. Alongside providing an excellent front-of-house service, you will undertake a range of administrative duties, respond to telephone and face-to-face enquiries, maintain accurate records, support communication with families and staff, and contribute to the effective organisation of the school office.
Working in a primary school means that no two days are the same. You may be welcoming a new family one moment, supporting a pupil or parent the next, before responding to an urgent request from a member of staff. You will therefore need to be able to manage competing priorities, remain calm under pressure and respond professionally and sensitively to a wide range of situations.
As part of our office team, you will also have an important responsibility for maintaining confidentiality and supporting the school’s safeguarding procedures, ensuring that the safety and wellbeing of our children remains at the heart of everything we do.
Who are we looking for?We are looking for an exceptional administrator who combines professionalism and efficiency with genuine warmth and approachability.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, proactive and able to use their initiative. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the confidence to communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues, visitors and external professionals.
As one of the first people our families and visitors will meet, you will understand the importance of providing an outstanding first impression. We want someone who will greet people with a smile, listen carefully, communicate sensitively and represent Coundon Primary School with professionalism and pride.
You will need to be confident using IT and administrative systems, have excellent attention to detail and be able to work accurately whilst managing the someone who can identify what needs to be done and take responsibility for seeing it through.
There will be occasions when you are dealing with sensitive information, worried parents or unexpected situations, so discretion, good judgement, confidentiality and the ability to remain calm and solution-focused are essential.

Salary range
- £22,274 - £23,563 per year
