
Aberbargoed Ecosystem Restoration Project Officer
We are recruiting an Aberbargoed Ecosystem Restoration Project Officer at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 Hours
Contract Type: Full Time, Fixed Term until 31st August 2028
Location: Parc Cwm Darren
Team: Green Spaces and Transport Services
This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organization.
We pay an attractive salary of £30,559 - £33,366 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
Caerphilly Council's Green Space Strategy and Cemeteries Service has received grant funding through the Nature Networks Programme, delivered by the Heritage Fund on behalf of Welsh Government.
The successful candidate will raise awareness and undertake practical works to enhance and manage a range of habitats across the project area to the benefit of the Marsh Fritillary. You will work with a range of stakeholders including landowners, schools, community groups and volunteers.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- A relevant Level 3 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example Environment, Ecology or Land Management.
- National Proficiency Test Council (NPTC) qualifications in appropriate practical skills such as use of a chainsaw, brush cutter and strimmer or where not held required to obtain in a timescale to be agreed with the line manager following appointment.
- Demonstrable practical skills for example use of small hand tools such as those used in gardening, building / construction work.
- Full UK Category B (Cars) driving license and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes to travel through the borough, attend meetings, events etc.
