Horsham District Council is looking for a Driver Operative to work within the Waste and Recycling teams.
As a qualified Driver, you will possess the minimum requirement of a clean Category C HGV licence as well as up to date CPC.&nbsp;&nbsp;It would also be an advantage if you hold a current digital tachograph card but this can be arranged as required.
You will be required to take the lead on the round, ensuring that all Health and Safety practices are adhered to by you and your crew. You will also be able to complete all administrative processes associated with your round and operate our in-cab system, Bartec, for which training will be provided ensuring accurate data entry into our system particularly for missed, contaminated, and damaged bins.
Bank holiday working is contractual, except Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day. Where bank holidays are worked, pay is at the rate of triple time for each bank holiday. Saturday catch-up working is contractual at Christmas and New Year, paid at the rate of time and a half.

To succeed as Driver Operative you will need to be a team player with outstanding behaviours, flexible attitude, and approach to job priority that ensures the department meets all its objectives.&nbsp;&nbsp;You will also be required to cover for absences in other areas of the department.
This role involves working outside in all weathers and you will need a good level of fitness and endurance to ensure the job gets done, which will include supporting your colleagues by loading bins.

To succeed as a Vehicle Fitter, you will have experience of heavy mechanical engineering preferably within an LGV / PSV environment and you will&nbsp;&nbsp;have the ability to work as part of a team in an operational environment. You will need strong knowledge of Health and Safety legislation in an operational workshop environment and good time management skills to enable you to work to deadlines. You will need to participate in the training and learning of alternative fuelled vehicles, either battery, electric or hydrogen.

The Role
This is a great opportunity at Lancaster City Council, to join and lead a newly integrated Property Team responsible for the Council’s corporate property portfolio and its housing stock.&nbsp;

Are you a purpose driven and strategic leader, passionate about driving positive outcomes in Supported Employment? We're seeking a highly motivated Supported Employment Operations Manager to lead our Connect to Work Team.
You will provide operational leadership, including day-to-day management of front-line Employment Specialists, developing and delivering employment support strategies aligned with the Council’s corporate priorities. The postholder will be adept at forging influential partnerships with multi-agency stakeholders to expand opportunities and strengthen referral pathways. You will be required to act as a subject expert to senior leadership, delivering strategic briefings and deputising for the Head of Employment Pathways. The role will require you to direct the implementation of Supported Employment and IPS models, ensuring fidelity and evidence-based practice.
To be successful in this role, you will need prior experience of driving a performance-led culture within the Employment and Skills industry, as well as the knowledge to implement robust monitoring and impact metrics. You will cultivate high-level stakeholder relationships across sectors, engaging NHS, employers and the DWP. Working closely with the council's Comms. teams to develop communications strategies, overseeing promotional materials and engagement campaigns. Additionally, you will represent the programme at borough-wide events, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and influencing policy.
Providing strategic oversight of the team, ensuring operational excellence and responsiveness to sector demands; you will also lead team meetings to drive alignment with political, Commissioning and labour market priorities, whilst fostering agility and innovation. You will manage and mentor Employment Advisors, embedding a high-performance, customer-focused culture. Moreover, you will oversee supervision of co-located staff, ensuring integration across multidisciplinary teams, championing cross-departmental collaboration and fostering a joined-up approach within Employment, Skills and Adult Learning services.
