Building Control Surveyor x 2
About the role:
We are looking to appoint 2 self-motivated and ambitious registered Building Control Surveyors to join our highly professional and successful Building Control Team.
You will need to hold min Class 2F or 3 registrations with the Building Safety Regulator and have Chartered Member, Member or Fellow Chartered Member of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) or alternative acceptable professional body.
You will be responsible for undertaking plan assessment, site inspections and enforcement work across a wide spectrum of works ranging from small domestic projects up to large complex commercial developments subject to the Registration class of the successful candidate.
In addition, the role involves assessing and undertaking any reasonable actions to protect the public from dangerous structures, unauthorised works, demolition work and works that form obstructions to the public highway and participation in the Councils out of hours emergency call out service.
About the candidate:
You will have substantial experience and understanding of the role and functions of Building Control and have a sound knowledge of the Building Regulations, Approved Documents, allied legislation and enforcement procedures.
You’ll have experience of dealing with dangerous buildings and structures and implementing enforcement action when necessary.
Hold Corporate Membership of CABE / RICS or acceptable alternative.
You’ll need to hold Class 2F or 3 Registration with the Building Safety Regulator in respect of Plans assessment and inspection activities.
You’ll need to be able to participate in the Councils out of hours emergency call out service.
You will possess excellent communication, interpersonal and IT skills and be able to work both individually and as part of a team.
You will hold a full, valid driving licence and have unrestricted use of a suitable vehicle for business purposes or be able to otherwise demonstrate the ability to travel to locations in an efficient and timely manner.

Job Purpose:

(A positive approach to children’s manner and behaviour is to be promoted to create an orderly eating environment – whistles are not to be used in the school building).</li>
<li>Supervision of pupils in playground areas and on school premises after lunch. This may include assisting in appropriate activities in wet weather and once again identifying and promoting good behaviour.</li>
<li>Ensure that children eat of a clean surface during lunchtimes and maintain the current procedures to ensure the children enjoy as full a playtime as possible. It is the main priority that you should work as part of a team and as a result supervise the children whilst they are playing outside.&nbsp; The preparation of the hall for afternoon curriculum activities is the responsibility of the Catering Department. &nbsp;Whilst the aim is to work collaboratively for the welfare of the childrenit is important to maintain a maximum cover in the play ground.&nbsp; Welfare Staff are to work with Catering to maximise this.</li>
<li>You are asked by way of securing the children’s Health and Safety to administer simple first aid where necessary (training will be provided for Welfare Assistants). Teachers enjoy a particularly short lunch break interrupting this should only be as a last resort as you are expected to attend to minor accidents including bumped heads where the appropriate form (located in the first aid cupboard) should be completed and handed to the child’s class teacher at the end lunchtime.&nbsp; It is also your responsibility to clear up minor spillages and any toileting accidents that the children may have.&nbsp; Cleaning of equipment e.g. mop bucket must be done once the children have returned to class.&nbsp; Supervision of children on the playground is priority.</li>
