About the Role: 
An exciting and challenging opportunity has been created to join the Finance Service at Wirral Council. We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join and support Treasury Management &amp; VAT team.
As a key member of the Accountancy team, your primary purpose will be to support the Senior Finance Business Partner to effectively manage the cashflow of the Council.
You will play a key role in the ensuring Council’s investment and debt portfolios are maintained in adherence to the risk minimising parameters within the Council’s Treasury Management Strategy.
Working with the Senior Finance Business Partner you will also help to ensure that the Council complies with all necessary VAT accounting and reporting requirements.
About the candidate: 
You will be an enthusiastic, motivated, and committed individual, who is able to demonstrate a working knowledge of this area, whilst also possessing excellent communication skills.
This is a challenging position and will require strong financial analysis skills and input into reporting for various stakeholders.

This is a pivotal role shaping the physical future of Cardiff Met. As Capital Projects Programme Manager, you’ll lead the planning and delivery of our strategic capital investments—ensuring our estate supports teaching, research, and community engagement while advancing our net zero carbon goals. You’ll work across the University and with external partners to deliver high-quality, impactful spaces aligned with Strategy 2030.
Our projects are small but impactful, including multi-award winning innovative approaches as we work towards net zero, prioritising people and making the most of what already exists.&nbsp;
You’ll lead the way by:
<ul>
<li>Developing and managing a prioritised, multi-year capital investment programme.</li>
<li>Acting as expert client for the University, overseeing project delivery from feasibility through to post-occupancy review.</li>
<li>Leading multi-disciplinary consultant teams and managing contractor performance.</li>
<li>Ensuring capital projects meet quality, programme, cost, and sustainability objectives.</li>
<li>Overseeing business cases, governance, compliance with procurement and CDM regulations.</li>
<li>Collaborating with teams across the University to integrate building performance, technology, and sustainability goals.</li>
</ul>
What you’ll bring
With significant experience in delivering complex capital programmes, you’ll bring a strategic mindset and a hands-on approach. You’ll be a confident communicator and project leader, comfortable operating across diverse disciplines and leading stakeholder engagement to deliver ambitious estate improvements.
<ul>
<li>A degree in construction, project management, engineering or a related field.</li>
<li>Chartered membership of a relevant body (e.g. RICS, CIOB, RIBA, APM), or extensive equivalent experience.</li>
<li>Strong track record in leading major capital and refurbishment projects in complex environments.</li>
<li>In-depth understanding of project governance, procurement, contract management, compliance and Health and Safety regulations.</li>
<li>Proven leadership in managing consultants, contractors, and stakeholder relationships.</li>
<li>Robust understanding of building services and commissioning</li>
<li>A demonstrable personal commitment to addressing climate change</li>
<li>Ideally, experience of sustainable construction and capital delivery within higher education or the public sector.</li>

This post offers an exciting opportunity to enter the leisure industry.
Salt Ayre Leisure Centre has the latest in fitness and training equipment, an indoor adventure play area and indoor and outdoor climbing facilities. Not to mention an immersive spinning studio and dedicated training zone.
In your role you will be responsible, as part of a team, for maintaining the smooth running of the state-of-the-art Leisure Centre. You will be dedicated in delivering an excellent customer experience for all our established and new customers. Supervising the swimming pool and flume, setting up and cleaning equipment for a wide range of sporting activities will be some of your day-to-day duties.
You will be the face of the Leisure Centre, and it is a great opportunity to be part of an enthusiastic, passionate and vibrant team. You will be confident and outgoing as your duties will include organising school holiday events and children’s birthday parties. You will also be expected to work in other areas of the leisure centre after appropriate training.
You will be offered work / shifts based around the centre opening times; 6:00am to 11:00pm Monday to Friday and 8.00am-8.00pm at weekends. This post is based at Salt Ayre Leisure Centre. A National Pool Lifeguard Qualification is essential for this post.&nbsp;
Full Lifeguard qualification training is available to the right person if required.
Excellent swimming ability will be required for this post. At the interview stage you will be required to carry out a swimming ability test.
An enhanced clearance with the Disclosure and Barring Service is essential.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Homeless Prevention Officer to join our busy Housing Needs Team.
The emphasis of the post will be to prevent homelessness wherever possible by providing support for customers at threat of losing their homes in a range of situations, including negotiating with mortgage lenders, social and private landlords, and social and welfare support agencies, whilst taking into account the clients housing and support needs.
You will be working closely with housing needs officers to contribute to the decision-making process under the national legislation.
Experience of assessing needs and offering housing advice to the public, including achievement of appropriate solutions to housing needs problems is essential as is multi-agency and multi-disciplinary working in relation to housing needs.&nbsp; It is also essential you have experience of working with landlords to prevent evictions and to enable clients to access good quality private rented accommodation.
It is essential you have the ability to work under pressure in demanding situations, including working with customers in difficult and stressful circumstances.&nbsp; It is also essential you have the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
