As a Housing Reviews and Visiting Officer, you’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team working directly with residents across the Sevenoaks District. Your work will help prevent homelessness, support some of our most vulnerable residents, and ensure the Council meets its legal duties under housing legislation.

This is a varied and rewarding role that combines casework, investigation, and extensive face-to-face work with customers in their homes and other settings, including hospitals. Based at the Council Offices in Sevenoaks, you’ll travel widely across the district carrying out visits, gathering information, and providing practical housing advice.
What you will be doing:
<ul>
<li>Assisting with homelessness reviews under Section 202 of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, including carrying out investigations and gathering evidence.</li>
<li>Keeping applicants informed of progress on their homelessness reviews within statutory timescales.</li>
<li>Carrying out accommodation suitability and property condition assessments, considering affordability, overcrowding, location, and any risk of violence.</li>
<li>Visiting customers in a range of settings, including hospitals, to support safe and timely discharge planning.</li>
<li>Providing high-quality housing advice, mediation and realistic housing options to individuals and families at risk of homelessness.</li>

The Regulatory Services Partnership (RSP) hosted by Merton Council is one of the largest Environmental Health Services in London, with the Food and Safety Team responsible for overseeing more than 6,000 food businesses in Merton, Richmond and Wandsworth. The area covered is diverse in nature and includes a variety of high profile and interesting venues, such as Wimbledon Tennis, AFC Wimbledon, Twickenham Rugby, Battersea Power Station, New Covent Garden and Hampton Court Flower Show.
We have an exciting opportunity for talented and enthusiastic qualified professionals to join our team of dedicated Food and Health and Safety officers to deliver the food safety, health and safety and infectious disease function across the RSP boroughs.
As an authorised officer you will manage and deliver food hygiene and standards inspections of all premises type, including approved food premises. You will investigate complaints and accidents, using your knowledge, skills and experience, and applying the necessary behaviours.
You will mentor and supervise technical staff, sharing your knowledge and experience.

Street Cleansing Operative

We are looking to appoint a Sheltered Housing Support Officer to our Independent Living Team. South Derbyshire District Council has a housing stock of circa 3000 properties of which a third are currently designated as sheltered. We are aiming for excellence and invite you to be integral to that process. The Independent Living Service provides help and assistance around the clock, 365 days of the year to customers who live independently in their own homes. The Independent living service is in essence two teams. At the Careline Control Centre a team of experienced operators provide a 24-hour monitoring and emergency call service for vulnerable adults who live within the district. This team works closely with the Careline Support Co-ordinators Team who provide a regular routine visiting service and a 24-hour emergency response service throughout the district. We are currently looking to develop the service and wish to appoint a part time Sheltered Housing Support Officer who will have the commitment and flexibility to ensure this valuable service is delivered to the high standards our customers expect and deserve. As a Sheltered Housing Support Officer, you will be guaranteed a minimum of 20 hours per week providing cover for members of either the Careline or Careline Support Co-ordinator teams. Due to the nature of the service, you may be required to work nights, weekends and other unsociable hours. To be successful in this role you will need to be a self-motivated and flexible individual who has the ability to work to high customer care standards with minimum supervision. You will need excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will need to be flexible and willing to step in to cover your colleagues when on holiday or sick leave.
