3.5t Street Scene Driver
South Hams District Council is seeking a 3.5T Street Scene Driver.
The successful candidate will operate vehicles within Categories B and C1, including vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes. This key role provides cover for a variety of duties undertaken by the Street Cleansing Service
Responsibilities include covering the Manual Street Cleansing Operative role; driving litter bin collection routes and emptying bins; operating a 3.5T small mechanical sweeper and a 7.5T medium mechanical sweeper; and undertaking associated duties such as litter picking, clearing debris, and emptying litter bins.
The role will also involve operating the Foamstream machine, a non-chemical weed control system used on the Council's hard landscape assets in prominent locations across the South Hams, including Dartmouth, Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Totnes.
Other duties include manual weeding, pushing a barrow, maintaining public areas to a high standard for residents and visitors, and operating a range of Council vehicles and equipment.
