We have an excellent opportunity for a DDaT Contract Manager to join our Digital, Data and Technology Team here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a Full-time, Permanent basis.
As DDaT Contract Manager, you will take lead responsibility for end-to-end lifecycle management of IT contracts, including mobilisation, performance monitoring, renewal, extension, and exit planning. You will act as the strategic lead for key technology suppliers, managing relationships to drive performance, innovation, and continuous improvement while establishing structured supplier governance and resolving disputes effectively.
You will monitor contract spend, budgets, and financial commitments to ensure value for money, identifying cost-saving opportunities and commercial risks across the supplier portfolio. Collaborating with procurement on high-value IT procurements and contributing to business cases, you will ensure contracts comply with Council policies, legal requirements, and audit standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end lifecycle management of IT contracts, including mobilisation, performance monitoring, renewal, extension, and exit planning.
- Ensure all contracts are actively managed in line with agreed service levels, KPIs, and contractual obligations.
- Act as the strategic lead for key technology suppliers, managing relationships to drive performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and report on supplier performance, customer satisfaction, adherence to security requirements and market intelligence.
- Monitor contract spend, budgets, and financial commitments, ensuring value for money and alignment to approved budgets.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities, efficiencies, and commercial risks across the supplier portfolio.
Candidate Requirements
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in IT, Commercial Management, or Procurement Significant experience managing IT or technology-related contracts in a complex organisation.
- Experience of supplier performance management and commercial negotiations.
- Experience working with procurement processes and public sector frameworks.
- Proficient in methods and techniques for negotiating and managing contracts for the supply of IT products and services.
