Location: Council Offices, Benfleet
Job Title: Housing Income Officer
Full Time – 37 hours per week
Grade 5 – SCP 17 - 21 - £31,022 - £33,143
Closing Date - 9th August 2026
We are looking for a full-time Housing Income Officer to work within the Finance and Procurement Service who can:
Key Skills and Abilities
- Manage rent collection and arrears enforcement across multiple tenures.
- Administer payment methods including Direct Debits, APAs, and DWP deductions.
- Prepare legal documentation and court bundles for rent recovery.
- Communicate effectively with tenants and stakeholders, including vulnerable individuals.
- Use housing systems such as OHMS, DWP Landlord Portal, and Smart Pay.
- Work independently and manage a varied workload.
Experience
Previous practical experience in rent recovery, arrears management, and enforcement is essential. Experience in handling complex cases, supporting vulnerable tenants, and preparing for court proceedings is desirable.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a sound understanding of housing legislation, rent policy, and benefit regulations. Formal housing or income management qualifications are desirable.
