Salary: £29,832 - £31,877 per annum
35 Hours per Week
Location: Warndon, Worcestershire

Team: Transport Commissioning Team
Permanent Contract

Make a Difference. Shape the Future of Transport in Worcestershire.

Are you looking for a rewarding career where your work has a direct impact on the lives of thousands of residents across Worcestershire?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Transport Commissioning & Allocation Officer to join our Integrated Transport Team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping and delivering transport services that support vulnerable adults, children, young people with SEND, and mainstream school pupils across the county.

Every day brings a new challenge. From commissioning vital transport services and working with operators to developing innovative solutions that improve outcomes for clients, you will be at the heart of a service that helps people access care and education establishments.

This is more than a commissioning role. It is an opportunity to influence how transport services are designed and delivered across Worcestershire, helping to ensure they remain safe, sustainable, responsive and value for money in an ever-changing environment.

Why Join Us?

At Worcestershire County Council, we are committed to investing in our people and developing future talent.

This role offers the opportunity to:

  • Play a key role in commissioning and sustaining safe, dependable transport services that have a direct and positive impact on the lives of vulnerable clients across Worcestershire.
  • Help shape the future direction of passenger transport services across the county.
  • Develop expertise in commissioning, contract management, procurement and transport planning.
  • Work closely with senior leaders and partners to deliver real service improvements.
  • Contribute to innovative projects that influence how transport services are delivered in the future.
  • Gain valuable experience within a high-profile service area that continues to grow and evolve.

Whether you already have transport experience or are looking to further develop your commissioning and contract management skills, we will provide the support, training and opportunities needed to help you succeed.

What Makes This Role Special?

This position sits at the centre of a service that supports over 13,000 individuals and manages a diverse network of transport providers across Worcestershire.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Influence service delivery decisions that directly affect residents and families.
  • Develop strong commercial and negotiation skills.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, social care professionals, transport operators, parents and carers.
  • Identify new ways of improving services whilst delivering value for money.
  • Build relationships across the public, private and voluntary sectors.
  • Contribute to the Council's wider ambitions around accessibility, inclusion and sustainable transport.

If you are passionate about delivering excellent services, enjoy problem-solving and want to help shape transport provision across Worcestershire, we would love to hear from you.
