About the role
Are you passionate about delivering high-quality housing services and making a real impact in people’s lives? Crawley Homes is looking for dedicated and proactive Housing Officers to join our dynamic Tenancy Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a front-line role, supporting tenants and managing a wide range of housing responsibilities, including tenancy management, income recovery, voids, and estate services.
As a Housing Officer, you’ll be responsible for:
- managing tenancies, including changes, terminations, and mutual exchanges
- supporting tenants with income management and arrears recovery
- letting void properties efficiently and sensitively
- conducting property inspections and estate management duties
- liaising with tenants, contractors, and partner agencies
- promoting community development and responding to safeguarding concerns
We’re seeking individuals who:
- are excellent communicators with strong negotiation and organisational skills
- have a good understanding of housing law, welfare benefits, and safeguarding
- are customer-focused and committed to continuous service improvement
- can work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends in response to the requirements of the post
- hold a full and current UK driving licence and have access to a suitable vehicle
There are two full-time positions available (37 hours per week, five days) and one part-time position available (29.6 hours per week, four days). The salary for the part-time position will be paid on a pro-rata basis. Crawley is a great place to work, with a thriving business district and excellent transport connections including nearby Gatwick Airport. We are based in our modern Town Hall which opened in 2023 and is located a short walk from the town centre and railway station.
Additional information
A full and current UK driving licence with access to a suitable vehicle (mileage payable).
It will be necessary to carry out some evening or weekend work for the purpose of tenant consultation or other tenancy matters.
