The Role: Qualified Social Workers - Families First

Location: Wyre Forest and Bromsgrove district team.

Office Base: Treetops children's centre, Kidderminster

Full time post, 37 hours per week.

Permanent role.

Salary: £33,699 - £41,771 plus market forces

Our Families First team is seeking exceptional candidates who are focused on facilitating positive outcomes for our children, young people, and their families within Worcestershire.

Worcestershire is embarked on our journey through the social care reforms and has launched our new Families First multi disciplinary teams; working with children, young people and their families who have targeted needs or are identified as Children In Need. In this role you will be a key part of a friendly, innovative multi-disciplinary team with the ethos of building on existing strengths within the family in order to enable them to address their presenting needs, manage times of crisis or emerging challenges in order to ensure longer term positive changes. You will work as part of a multi disciplinary team completing Family Assessments, identifying and delivering help, support and intervention through a Family Plan. Increasing safety and protection, and engaging our partners in meeting the families presenting needs and enabling families to stay together wherever safe and appropriate to do so.

Within this role you will directly with families within their own homes and communities; carrying out direct work with children in other environments for example in the school or family hubs. A key attribute is the ability to build a positive working relationship with our families in order for their plan of support to succeed. You will be expected to liaise with our internal and external partners who are integral to plans that support our families.

In order to support you and develop your practice and career you will be directly managed and supervised by our permanent skilled and experienced leaders who are passionate about achieving the best outcomes for children. You will be able to access a wealth of learning events and work with us to shape our services to children. In terms of the disciplines within the Families First teams, you will be working alongside Outreach Workers, Money Mentor, Family Support Workers, Youth Mentors, Substance Misuse, Emotional Health/Well being Workers, Domestic Abuse Practitioners, Family Decision making Coordinators and Advanced Social Work Practitioners.

If you wish to make a real difference to families lives and be part of a multi disciplinary team then there has never been a better time to join us. If you would like further information on this role please contact either Rachel Doidge (RDoidge@worcestershire.gov.uk) or Simba Chigwedere (SChigwedere1@worcestershire.gov.uk) Team Managers who will be happy to speak to you.

These are permanent posts. The team office base is Kidderminster but you will have access to other touch points as county-wide travel may be required on occasion.
