Help make a difference every day with Telford & Wrekin Council's Transport Team
This is an exciting opportunity to join Telford & Wrekin Council's Transport Team, responsible for delivering safe, reliable, sustainable and innovative transport services that provide excellent value and support to residents across the borough.
We are looking for Casual Passenger Assistants who are passionate about supporting others and making a positive impact in their local community. This is a varied and engaging role where no two days are the same. You will work with a dynamic range of people, building positive relationships with passengers, families, carers, drivers, schools and care providers, while ensuring every journey is safe, comfortable and dignified.
Working alongside a driver as part of a dedicated team, Passenger Assistants play a vital role in supporting clients throughout their journey and providing reassurance to both passengers and their families.
The role usually operates on a split-shift basis, typically:

This working pattern is ideal for those who value flexibility and want time available during the day for family commitments, study, hobbies, or other employment.
Successful candidates will have excellent communication and organisational skills, a positive and flexible attitude, and a strong commitment to delivering high standards of customer care. You will be a reliable team player who enjoys working with people from a variety of backgrounds and is motivated by helping others achieve safe and accessible travel.
