Job IntroductionWe’re recruiting a Revenues Inspector to join our Revenues and Benefits team at Milton Keynes City Council.

This is a rewarding role that supports the accurate collection of Council Tax and Business Rates, helping to fund the essential services that local people rely on every day. Milton Keynes City Council delivers more than 200 services across the city, working to create cleaner, safer communities and reduce inequalities while supporting economic growth.
Everything we do is guided by our values of being dedicated, respectful and collaborative, working together as one council to make a real difference.

As a Revenues Inspector, the role combines office-based casework with regular visits across Milton Keynes, including commercial premises, development sites and construction locations. It plays an important part in identifying new properties, ensuring records are accurate and up to date, and maintaining fairness across the local taxation system.

You’ll use a range of digital systems and software to record findings, maintain accurate property and taxation records, analyse information, and support effective service delivery, so confidence in using IT systems would be advantageous.

The position suits someone who enjoys a mix of independent working and being out in the community, gathering information and making informed decisions that directly impact the city.

We’re happy to offer an informal conversation or a chance to meet us before you apply. To arrange this, please contact Corey Wallinger via Corey.Wallinger@milton-keynes.gov.uk to arrange.
