
Pride in Place - Community Engagement Officer
Contract: This is a 2 year fixed term contract initially, until June 2028
Hours: Full-time 37 hours per week
Are you passionate about working with local people to drive change at a neighbourhood level and want to work on a high-profile community-focused regeneration programme?
We’re looking for an experienced and community focused engagement officer to help deliver the Cherrywood Pride in Place Programme.
About the Role
These are exciting times for Cherrywood, with £20 million of investment planned over the next decade. Working closely with the Pride in Place Programme Manager, you will engage with residents, schools, voluntary and community groups, and partner organisations and encourage people to play an active role in shaping and improving their local area. This will include
- Planningand deliveringcommunity engagement events and activities
- Buildingstrong relationships with community groups and local stakeholders
- Coordinating Pride in Place campaigns, events, and volunteering initiatives
- Encouraging resident participation in local decision-making and community activities
- Identifyingopportunities for external funding and partnership working
- Acting as a visible and approachable representative of the Council within communities
About You
We are looking for someone who is passionate about community engagement and working with local communities.
You will have:
- Experience in community engagement, regeneration, neighbourhood management, or a related field
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and stakeholders
- Strong organisational and project coordination abilities
- Experience delivering community events or campaigns
- Confidence using digital communication and social media platforms
