ERP Business Systems Manager

Do you want to lead one of the Council’s most critical digital platforms and drive meaningful organisational transformation?
We’re looking for an ERP Business Systems Manager to shape, evolve, and optimise our enterprise systems so they continue to support a modern, efficient, and data‑driven Council.

About the Role

As our ERP Business Systems Manager, you will oversee the strategy, development, and continuous improvement of the Council’s ERP solution and all associated components. You’ll act as the Design Authority for the platform, ensuring that every change, enhancement, and integration aligns with organisational standards, governance expectations, and long‑term direction.

You will lead the ERP Team, provide expert guidance to stakeholders, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and partners to ensure that the system remains robust, compliant, and fit for the future.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading the strategic roadmap for the ERP solution and ensuring alignment with Council priorities and supplier product direction.
  • Acting as the authority for architectural and functional changes across the ERP ecosystem.
  • Overseeing system configuration, integrations, upgrades, data structures, and security.
  • Ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of critical business systems.
  • Managing and developing the ERP Team, including recruitment, performance, wellbeing, and continuous professional development.
  • Working closely with internal departments and programme teams to support change initiatives and provide expert advice.
  • Driving the adoption of automation and improved processes to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency.
  • Producing and maintaining documentation covering architecture, processes, compliance, and technical standards.
  • Managing risks, issues, procurement, licensing, and supplier relationships.
  • Contributing to capital programme planning and managing associated budgets.

About You

You’ll bring strong leadership ability, excellent technical knowledge, and a deep understanding of ERP systems (preferably Agresso).

What You’ll Need

  • Significant experience in IT management and governance of ICT solutions.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise business processes and ERP systems.
  • Experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams and overseeing complex system-related projects.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to engage, influence, and collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience working with integrations, data structures, release management, and technical architecture.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, customer‑centred service delivery, and best practice.

What We Offer

  • A leadership role that shapes how the Council operates through its core business systems.
  • Opportunities to innovate, streamline processes, and introduce transformational technologies.
  • A collaborative Digital & IT service committed to high standards and forward‑thinking approaches.
  • Hybrid working arrangements and a supportive environment where development is encouraged.

Why Join Us?

This is your chance to take ownership of a mission‑critical digital platform and help modernise how services across the Council operate. You will be central to ensuring our ERP solution remains stable, scalable, and aligned to the needs of a changing organisation, while supporting the delivery of better outcomes for staff, partners, and the community we serve.

For full details of the responsibilities and requirements of this role please see the attached Job Description and Person Specification.

Our working arrangements

All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empower employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocated where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location. Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.

Please refer to the Job Description for further information on the workstyle assigned to the role you are applying for.
