Community Governance Review Project Officer
Help Shape our Communities
Join us as a Community Governance Review Project Officer and play a vital role in shaping local democracy. You will ensure Community Governance Reviews are conducted lawfully, transparently, and on time, enabling effective decision-making that truly reflects the voices of Lancaster’s communities. Your work will support our commitment to pride, ownership, ambition, and working together, helping to build a stronger, more engaged local area.
What You’ll Be Doing
Over the course of 12 months and as we progress through local government reorganisation, you will coordinate all stages of Community Governance Reviews in the Lancaster district, from initial planning and consultation to analysis and final recommendations. Your role includes creating and managing project plans, advising elected members, organising consultation events, and analysing community responses and data. You’ll draft and present clear reports ensuring compliance with legislation and data protection. Your efforts will help foster meaningful resident engagement and ensure governance arrangements meet statutory criteria.
You’ll Fit Right In If…
You have project management experience and a strong understanding of democratic governance. You communicate clearly, work well independently and as part of a team, and thrive under pressure. Your excellent organisational skills and attention to detail will help you manage competing deadlines effectively. You share our values of working together, ambition, pride, and ownership. A full driving licence is essential for this role.
