Ealing Council has an exciting opportunity for a Premises Assistant to join our welcoming team at the Ealing Education Centre, based in Greenford, UB6.

We are looking for a reliable, proactive and practical Premises Assistant to join the friendly team at the Ealing Education Centre (EEC). This is a permanent, part-time position, working 15 hours per week, term time only, plus two additional weeks. The role is primarily a morning-based position, with working hours of 7:00am to 10:00am, Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the centre is safe, secure and ready for use each day. While the role is based on a regular morning schedule, some flexibility will be required to support occasional evening or weekend events, as well as centre opening and closing duties, with prior notice and agreement.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards and enjoys a varied, hands-on role.

As our Premises Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the centre remains clean, safe, secure and well-prepared for the wide range of training, meetings and events that take place throughout the year. You will help create a positive environment for staff, visitors, learners and partners, whilst supporting the day-to-day operation of the centre.

Key responsibilities:
•Opening, closing and securing the building, including alarm setting and testing.
•Carrying out routine maintenance and basic repairs.
•Setting up training rooms, furniture and equipment for courses and events.
•Undertaking cleaning duties to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
•Conducting regular site inspections and reporting maintenance issues.
•Monitoring lighting, heating and building systems.
•Providing reception support during early mornings, evenings and weekend lettings when required.
•Supporting health and safety compliance across the site.
•Assisting with deliveries, visitor enquiries and general site management. Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal Premises Assistant will have the below skills and experience
•Has previous experience in a caretaking, premises, facilities or maintenance role.
•Has good practical maintenance and repair skills.
•Understands the importance of health and safety and can work safely and responsibly.
•Is dependable, punctual and able to work independently.
•Has excellent customer service and communication skills.
•Enjoys being part of a team and helping others.
•Takes pride in maintaining high standards and a well-presented environment.
•Is willing to undertake relevant training, including First Aid.

Essential skills and qualifications:
•Previous experience in a premises, caretaking, or facilities role, ideally in a school or public sector environment.
•Experience with routine maintenance, cleaning, and site security.
