    Join our team as an HGV Driver Operative to support the effective delivery of Liverpool's frontline waste services - Domestic, Recycling, Communal and Commercial Waste. As part of this role you will also play a vital role in supporting the implementation of Liverpool's food waste collection service.

    • The role of HGV Driver Operative involves driving and operating heavy goods vehicles and other vehicles in line with relevent legislation, company policies and procedures.
    • As a HGV Driver Operative you will be required to carry out daily waste collections efficiently, planning routes to maximise productivity, and ensuring waste is processed correctly through transfer stations and ensuring that all collections are completed in line with targets, including any requirement to return to properties.
    • In the role of HGV Driver Operative you will be responsible for vehicle checks, using handheld equipment to record and document activities, adhere to health and safety procedures, and support both planned and reactive operational tasks.
    • As part of this role of HGV Driver Operative you will be required to undertake operative functions presenting items for collection to the vehicle using appropriate tools and safe manual handling methods and where appropriate safely operate the vehicle mechanism for loading and emptying and return receptacles to place of origin once emptied.

    We’re looking for experienced HGV drivers who hold a Category C licence and a Driver Qualification Card, with knowledge of health and safety and previous HGV driving experience in a work environment. Strong communication skills, the ability to manage your workload, and a proactive approach to customer service are essential.
