An opportunity has arisen for a SEND Assisted Travel Support Officer to join Wirral Council's busy SEND Assisted Travel office on a 12-month, fixed term contract, with the possibility this could become permanent.

About the Role:

This role supports the administration and operations of a busy Special Needs transport team, looking after vulnerable children and adults travelling to and from home to schools/colleges and day centres.

The post holder will be responsible for arranging sickness/absence cover for our c300 part-time passenger assistants, processing invoices/parental expenses, dealing with email inboxes and queries/phone calls both internal & external.

This is a demanding, but important role, working as part of a small office-based team.

About the Candidate:

The successful candidate will be a dynamic, well organised individual, who is used to working with public and can remain calm under pressure.

Successful candidates should have suitable office experience, including telephone work, be computer literate and be familiar with Microsoft applications Excel, Outlook, Word and Teams. You will also have the ability to process invoices and payments.
