Job Introduction

Job Title: Children’s Home Manager – Albion Street

Salary: £52,413 - £60,050 (Pay Award Pending)

Location: Spalding, Lincolnshire

Interviews: 18 August

Outstanding care starts with outstanding leadership.

Lincolnshire County Council is seeking an experienced and ambitious Registered Manager to lead Albion Street in Spalding. This is an opportunity to lead a well-resourced, ambitious service and make a lasting impact on the lives of children while developing a high-performing team.

About the Role

As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, development, and day-to-day operation of the home, ensuring children receive the highest standards of care, support, and safeguarding while achieving positive outcomes.

Working closely with senior leaders, partner agencies, families, and carers, you will create a high-performing home where children achieve exceptional outcomes and staff are empowered to excel. You will lead and develop a committed staff team while ensuring the home operates in line with regulatory requirements, local authority policies, and best practice standards.

As part of our significant investment in residential childcare, you'll join an expanding, ambitious service with the opportunity to shape practice, develop talented teams, and drive outstanding outcomes. You'll be supported by two dedicated Residential Service Leads, giving you the opportunity to work within a well-resourced leadership structure that promotes collaboration, shared expertise and successful service delivery.

About Albion Street

Our spacious 6-bed children's home has been thoughtfully designed to provide a welcoming, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children can feel safe, valued, and able to thrive.

We specialise in providing excellent in-house care and support for children who have diverse needs because of their early experiences.

The model of care in our home combines trauma informed practice with social pedagogy, attachment theory and therapeutic care models to give our children the high level of care they need and deserve.

About You

We’re looking for a confident leader with a passion for achieving the best outcomes for children with:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards).
  • Proven leadership experience within a children's residential setting in the last 5 years.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures, child protection legislation, and Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
  • Eligible to register with Ofsted as a Registered Manager and work positively with Ofsted to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • A good understanding of Therapeutic Practices and PACE.

What We Offer

At Lincolnshire County Council, we recognise that strong leadership starts with feeling valued and supported. In return for your commitment, we offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your career development, wellbeing, and work-life balance, including:

  • A salary of £52,413 - £60,050 (Pay Award Pending) and Local Government Pension Scheme, with c.17% employer contribution.
  • 28 days annual leave entitlement which increases to 33 after 5 years’ service, with the option to purchase up to 10 days additional leave.
  • Option of a 9 day fortnight and a shared on-call rota allowing you to fully step away from work and recharge during your time off.
  • Salary sacrifice schemes, including cycle-to-work, car lease, and additional leave purchase options.
  • Access to employee discounts through Perkbox and a range of national and local offers.
  • Ongoing professional development, including leadership programmes, training, and career progression opportunities.
  • A comprehensive occupational sick pay scheme, life cover, and ill-health retirement provisions.
  • Access to health and wellbeing resources, including counselling, employee support services, and health cash plan options.
  • Dedicated support for physical, mental, and financial wellbeing.
