The NXT Level Active Training Lead is an exciting new role in NNC that will be managing a programme of training needs for the community by coordinating and supporting young people aged 14–24 in priority places to gain qualifications, life skills, volunteering experience and pathways into employment within sport, physical activity and community settings. The role will act as the central link between youth sector organisations and youth groups, schools, colleges, sports clubs, NGBs, training providers and young people to develop opportunities with a focus on the priority areas of Queensway Wellingborough, Lodge Park and Kingswood in Corby. This post is funded by Sport England and delivered in partnership with Northamptonshire Sport.

As the post holder you will work to deliver the aims and actions of the Active Communities Strategy to ensure opportunities are provided for the community to more more and be active. You will be responsible for the development and scheduling of the NNC NXT Level Active annual training programme of sport and physical activity related courses to meet the needs of the community of North Northants.

As part of the programme you will instruct and teach some of the training courses in the programme (training will be provided to the post holder) such as the Sportsleaders, First Aid and Safeguarding courses and coordinate, schedule and host other workshops and training courses with external providers.

To be a successful applicant you will have experience of working with multiple partners and you should have a good understanding of sport, physical activity and community development, including volunteering pathways, NGB qualifications and workforce routes.

You will also have had experience in coordinating community, sport, youth or training programmes including planning, delivery and monitoring and also in managing and scheduling courses, workshops or events.
