You will gain valuable experience working within the Network Management Team and play a role in supporting and the providing technical support to the service managers and their respective team; assist as required with all aspects of the team’s duties.

You will work under the supervision of qualified engineers while studying towards a Level 4 Civil Engineering Senior Technician qualification.

This is an opportunity for someone seeking an opportunity within the Network Management Team. You will support the monitoring of works on the highway by developers and Statutory Undertakers and also assist in the Highway Enforcement role, in accordance with the Highways Act and associated legislation. This role combines technical training with hands-on experience.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Assist, as required, with a wide range of engineering duties including the supervision of works on the highway, ensuring compliance with agreed standards.
2. Assist in Highways Enforcement duties in accordance with the Highways Act 1980.
3. Assist in the monitoring of works on the highway by Statutory Undertakers and third-party contractors, ensuring compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and associated codes of practice.
4. Assist in the monitoring of works by developers, ensuring works are undertaken to adoptable standards.
5. Contribute to site surveys, measurements, and setting out tasks.
6. Assist with the investigation of Enquiries & complaints relating to Highways service areas.
7. Liaise as required with contractors, suppliers, and other appropriate agencies both internal and external.
8. Use CAD and other engineering software to produce technical drawings.
9. Attend site visits, contractor meetings, and on-site commissioning activities.
10. Attend multiple site locations and make risk-based inspections in line with the approved strategy guidance document.
