Early Help Support Worker- Reunification Team

18.5 hrs per week

Permanent Contract

We have an exciting opportunity within our Reunification Team, in Early Help and Targeted Intervention Service.

We are looking for someone with an appetite for working effectively with some of our most vulnerable children, young people, their parents, and carers alongside our colleagues in Social Care.

Reunification to their family is a core ambition for children and young people in care, firmly grounded in legislation and national guidance, with a clear focus on achieving safe, stable and sustainable returns home. Our approach reflects national strategies that prioritise family-based care to ensure children grow up in stable, loving homes. We recognise that parental capacity, family circumstances, and levels of risk and protection change over time; with the right support, many challenges affecting parenting can be addressed, enabling improved outcomes for children and their families.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about the role that reunification can play in supporting a child to return home to safely.
  • Is able to identify creative and collaborative solutions to support plans for a safe return home.
  • Is committed to working in collaboration with colleagues and partners across children’s services to develop robust gradual reunification plans.
  • Has significant experience of working with a whole family approach
  • Is professionally curious and able to engage in respectful professional challenge, keeping the child’s best interests at heart.

If you are a passionate person with a Level 3 or 4 qualification in children, young people and family type work and have extensive work experience in targeted needs led, outcome driven intervention work, this could be an exciting opportunity for you!

If you would be interested in speaking more about this exciting way of working and want to consider applying, for an informal discussion please contact Sophie Wathen (sophie.wathen3@bcpcouncil.gov.uk) or Nikki Dilke (nikki.dilke@bcpcouncil.gov.uk)
