About the Role

Every child deserves the opportunity for participation and inclusion, to live in a home environment that supports and enables them to do the things that matter most to them, and their families. As a Senior Children’s Occupational Therapist, you’ll make that possible by working in partnership with children, parents, and carers to remove barriers and create safe, supportive spaces.

You’ll listen, assess and act - providing tailored advice, specialist equipment, and home adaptations that make a real difference. Whether it’s enabling a child to access essential facilities at home or helping parents feel confident in providing safe care, your work will transform everyday challenges into opportunities for independence and choice.

This is a role where your expertise really counts. You’ll manage complex cases, balancing risk and safeguarding while keeping the child’s needs and aspirations at the centre. You’ll collaborate with a wide network of professionals and partners to deliver solutions that work for families. And as a senior member of the team, you’ll share your knowledge, supporting and mentoring colleagues and students so they can develop too.

Our countywide Children’s Occupational Therapy service is built on partnership. We work alongside families and the multidisciplinary team around the child to create safe, supportive environments where children can flourish. You’ll join a well-established, passionate team within the Children with Disabilities Resources service, alongside the Children’s Crisis Service and Outreach teams — together making a lasting impact and ensuring no one is left behind.

We’ll support you every step of the way with learning opportunities, supervision, and a culture that encourages creativity and innovation. Because when you’re empowered, so are the children and families you serve.

In order to be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence the following skills and align with our behaviours:
