AARRC Practice Supervisor

AARRC Practice Supervisor

Childcare
£49,056 - £52,194 per year
Job Introduction

Royal Greenwich Children in Care and Care Leavers’ Services is an exciting place to work right now. Join us as we develop a purpose designed short-term residential-based service focused on improving stability and outcomes for children and young people aged 11-17; and play an important role in shaping its development.

This service, called the Adolescent Assessment Resource and Residential Centre (The AARRC), will deliver a multi-disciplinary service to children and young people who are either in or ‘at risk’ of entering the care system (and where appropriate to their families and their wider support network), where staff will:

• Provide a Children’s Home for (up to 6) children and young people requiring multi-disciplinary assessments of needs, bridging placements or emergency accommodation.

• Undertake rigorous assessments to reduce unplanned moves and improve placement stability for children and young people.

• Provide multi-disciplinary and impactful services to improve outcomes for children and young people including therapeutic services and speech and language therapy which will contribute to better outcomes.

• Ease the number of new care-entrants by providing ‘edge of care’ services and to address crises and reunify children and young people with their families where it is safe and in their best interests to do so.

We are changing the way we work by developing a new practice model to ensure that we are best placed to deliver on the priorities for children and young people.

The vision for the AARRC has been informed by organisational and sectoral learning, best practice from our existing outstanding Children’s Home as well as the voices of children and young people.

We are now looking for a Practice Supervisor who, under the leadership of an experienced Deputy Manager, who will line manage our practitioners ensuring that they deliver a high-quality service to children and young people residing in the centre. Working through your respective team, you will develop this innovative new service, ensuring a first-class service delivering brilliant outcomes for children, young people and families.

You will be joining a genuinely values driven Children’s Services directorate which is rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted with a strong, inclusive and accessible leadership.

You will have experience of direct work with children, young people and families with targeted or complex needs; and the ability to lead, support and guide staff, to interact and role model positive interactions with young people and maintain a welcoming home environment.

You will have the confidence to lead front line children’s home practitioners as well as contributing and coordinating the work of clinicians; and have experience of managing a diverse team.

If you feel you have the necessary skills, experience, and creativity to join us at this exciting time, we would like to hear from you.

Royal Greenwich offers good remuneration with additional monthly payment for early start and/or late finish including working on weekends. Additional support including a generous holiday allowance; a diverse workforce and an inclusive working environment is also provided.

This role requires and Enhanced DBS with Children’s Barred List.

For an informal discussion please contact Kwame Boadu at kwame.boadu@royalgreenwich.gov.uk or 0208 921 5051
