The role involves providing an efficient service to tenants and licensees in temporary accommodation, to ensure the effective use of properties minimising voids and to ensure properties are maintained to an agreed property standard.&nbsp;

<h2>About the role</h2>The Housing officer Role within the Temporary Accommodation service can be a varied and enjoyable position. Working with our customers to provide information and advice around their Homeless applications. We are recruiting an apprentice to join our&nbsp;Central Business Support team to provide administrative support to services across the organisation. The team will supplement our existing Business Support arrangements and will work across the entire authority from Adult Social Care to Planning, Education, Transport, Corporate Services, Housing and Communities, and Finance and Benefits.This is a full time fixed-term contract for the duration of your apprenticeship but we are passionate about retaining and developing our staff, and our Business Support posts are a fantastic way to kick off a career in local government. &nbsp;Alongside your day job, you will have the opportunity to work towards a Level 3 apprenticeship in Business Administration. We are looking for an experienced officer to join our busy but friendly and supportive Environmental Health team. You will work in the Residential team, and your duties will cover general nuisance investigations, all aspects of private sector housing, including the licensing of houses in multiple occupation, other housing work including the investigation of social housing complaints and public health tasks. Experience in the investigation of noise complaints and an interest in this area would be an advantage.
You will be enthusiastic, committed, self-motivated and have a positive attitude. You must be an excellent communicator and team player with sound time management skills and be confident in dealing with members of the public.&nbsp; You must be able to demonstrate your ability to adapt to changing priorities and work to tight deadlines.

An exciting opportunity is now available within Wokingham Borough Council's Integrated Early Help Service as we look to recruit Early Help Workers to work within our busy team.
As an Early Help Worker, you will be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children aged 0 to 18 years. You will manage a defined caseload and work with children, young people, and their families to reduce risks associated with poor outcomes for children, including pre-birth.&nbsp; As a lead professional, you will complete 'whole family' Early Help Assessments to gain an understanding of the children's and family's needs and develop a time-limited action plan to help the family achieve identified outcomes. This includes ensuring that the voices of children and young people are heard and modelling positive parenting and co-parenting.

Key Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Working closely with other support services, including Children's Social Care, Schools, Early Years, Health, and Domestic Abuse services to coordinate wrap around, strength-based support for families.</li>
<li>Taking a lead professional role in organising and chairing "Team Around the Family" meetings to ensure plans are effective and families are making progress with healthy change and increase resilience</li>
<li>To work closely with other professionals, including Early Years, schools and colleges, health and the voluntary sector to support joined up working and encourage sustainable change and ongoing support for families.</li>
</ul>
Candidate Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Experience of working with children (0 to 18yrs) and families.</li>
<li>Experience of managing a caseload of families with complex needs.</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills, be creative, resilient, and adaptable to change.</li>
<li>Essential to the work is a personal robustness to be able to cope with the demands of the role and an ethos of partnership and collaboration.</li>
<li>Daily use of a car and a full driving licence is also essential for this post.</li>

Your role will involve contributing to the strategic direction of the service, developing and implementing policies, managing stakeholder relationships, and overseeing performance and quality. You will also be responsible for fostering a high performing culture across the service, ensuring a customer focussed approach and a drive for continuous improvement, best practice and value for money.
To be successful, you will have experience of civil registration, front facing customer resolutions, and complaint management, along with experience of improving and modernising services. You will have a strong customer focus, with the customer experience at the heart of the services you deliver.
