
Senior Network Programme Coordinator
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join the Network Management team and take a lead role in overseeing the daily activities of the Network Permit Officers.
The successful candidate will serve as the Council's primary interface for matters related to Coordination, Compliance, Licensing, Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders (TTROs), and other events on the Highway. This particular role is part of the Temporary Restriction, Events, Licencing & Support (TRELIS) Team and the focus of the role will be on licensing in particular.
The Network Management Service is responsible for fulfilling the Council's obligation to ensure the smooth flow of traffic. The Service oversees permit issuance, coordinates activities and works on the highway network, and manages licensing for events, activities, and temporary road restrictions.

Salary: £44,075 to £47,181 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week)
Location: Temporarily based at County Hall or Drayton Depot - Chichester, due to the temporary closure of Durban House, Bognor Regis.
Interview Date: w/c 25/08/25
This role requires the successful candidate to travel throughout the county for visits.
Regular attendance at your designated base location will also be necessary, and there will be opportunities for remote work. Final arrangements will be confirmed with the successful candidate.
You will need to be able to travel independently around the county, including to areas that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Pool cars and pool bikes available.

- Serve as a Senior Officer within the Network Management Team, with line management responsibilities for a team of Network Permit Officers.
- Collaborate with other senior officers within the Network Management Service to plan and coordinate workload distribution and manage permit
- Work with senior officers across the Service to maintain and enhance work practices, procedures, staff development, and training initiatives.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with managers and works promoters, as well as key relationships with internal clients, team colleagues, and external partners or organisations.
- Provide advice and guidance to Network Permit Officers and the wider team regarding permits, compliance, licensing, and applications for temporary traffic regulation orders (TTRO) and events on the Highway.

We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Degree, or equivalent professional qualification, or comparable experience in a relevant subject area.
- New Roads and Street works Supervision Qualification.
- LANTRA Sector 12D Supervisors Qualification.
- Extensive experience in network management or a related field.
- Demonstrable working knowledge of IT systems and procedures.
- Experience in a supervisory capacity, managing workloads and monitoring the performance of a small team, or the willingness and preparedness to assume such responsibilities.
