Homeless Prevention Officer
We’re looking for a proactive and compassionate professional to join our homelessness prevention team on a 12‑month fixed-term basis. This role will strengthen the Council’s prevention and solutions service by delivering tailored housing advice and early intervention support to customers in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act.
You’ll carry out home visits, build strong partnerships across the council and our partners, and play a key role in preventing homelessness before crises escalate.
Working closely with customers, you’ll assess needs, explore housing options, and develop personalised housing plans, bringing together colleagues and partner agencies to tackle the underlying causes of housing instability and help secure sustainable accommodation solutions.

Hours: This is a full-time role, for 37 hours per week

Contract: Fixed Term (12 months)
Salary: £37,280 - £41,771 per annum (City Pay Band 5), pro rata for part time.
Location: This is flexible – working in Cambridge on site or at one of our offices or working from home. You will be able to balance your work location accordingly.

Salary range
- £37,280 - £41,771 per year
