About the role

We are seeking an organised and proactive Safer Communities Administrator to provide high-quality administrative, financial and business support across the Stronger and Safer Communities Service. Working closely with operational and partnership teams, you will support the delivery of community safety initiatives through effective financial administration, meeting coordination, data reporting, diary management and general business support. This varied role is key to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of services that help reduce crime, tackle anti-social behaviour and improve community wellbeing across North Northamptonshire.

What will you be doing?

In this role, you will provide administrative, financial and organisational support to the Stronger and Safer Communities Service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing invoices, purchase orders and contract payments.
  • Providing administrative support to managers and the wider team.
  • Managing the shared Safer Communities inbox and responding to enquiries.
  • Organising meetings, preparing agendas and taking minutes.
  • Managing diaries and coordinating appointments.
  • Maintaining records, spreadsheets and service databases.
  • Supporting data reporting and performance monitoring.
  • Assisting with audits, communications and business support activities.
  • Coordinating room bookings, equipment and other service logistics.
  • Supporting business continuity arrangements when required.

This is a varied role that helps ensure community safety services are delivered effectively and efficiently across North Northamptonshire.

About you

  • Five (5) GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade 4 or above, or equivalent.
  • Experience of processing invoices, purchase orders or financial transactions.
  • Experience of administrative work, including maintaining spreadsheets or databases, writing emails, and producing summary information from MS Excel.
  • Experience of working in teams and delivering services to customers.
  • Experience of working to challenging targets and to plan and prioritise effectively to achieve and meet deadlines.
  • Experience of taking minutes, preparing meeting papers and supporting managers.
  • Experience managing diaries, coordinating meetings and handling confidential information.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting wider team objectives.
  • English fluency.
