Finance Administration Officer
About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Administration Manager, you will play a key role in processing the Council’s financial transactions and supporting the day-to-day operation of the finance function and HR administration support.
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
Essential
- Previous experience working within an accounts or finance environment
- Experience handling financial information accurately
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- GCSE Grade 4 (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Administration role experience
- AAT Level 2 qualification or working towards it
Desirable
- Experience of local government or public sector finance
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining the purchase ledger and processing invoices
- Processing income and banking transactions
- Administering petty cash and reconciliations
- Raising sales invoices and issuing customer statements
- Supporting credit control procedures
- Assisting with year-end accounts preparation
- Responding to finance-related telephone and email enquiries
- Supporting the wider finance team to meet deadlines and service requirements
- To provide HR administration support to the Director of Finance & Resources as required
