About the role
In this role, you will oversee the implementation, management, and delivery of all electrical, fire detection, door entry, lift, CCTV, and digital TV installations with the Council’s supply partners. Responsibilities include repair, maintenance, and major projects for both existing and new Council housing installations.
About you
You will oversee projects from start to completion with minimal supervision, including budget management, preparing specifications and drawings, contract procurement, and supervising electrical works for the Council’s housing stock.
A degree in Building Surveying or equivalent work experience in a similar role is preferred with i.e. HNC/HND in Building Surveying/Construction or relevant Electrical qualification. Strong working knowledge of building defects and solutions is also required.&nbsp; Knowledge of housing legislation, best practices for repairs and maintenance, CDM, and Building Regulations is essential.

Community Meals Delivery Officer

About UsNorth Somerset Council’s Community Meals Service are looking for Cooks/Kitchen Assistants for casual hours to cover cook’s duties during periods of leave to reheat pre -prepared meals and make sandwiches to be delivered 7 days a week to vulnerable people. There is a need to cover across two kitchens for North Somerset Council, one in the South of North Somerset (Weston based and cover of surrounding villages) and the North of North Somerset (Clevedon based and cover of surrounding villages).The RoleExperience required within a kitchen environment particularly with cooking and freezer temperatures. Training will be provided by our on-site cooks in the use of the kitchen equipment. You must be willing to train in Environmental Health regulations required in a kitchen environment, including keeping daily recordings of temperatures and in stock control.Sandwiches should be freshly made each day for teas while waiting for ovens to heat. Food is then loaded into insulated boxes for the team of Community Meals drivers to take out for delivery. First deliveries start at 11.30. You will be supported by a Team Manager and the Community Meals Business Support Team.Our kitchens operate 7 days a week over 52 weeks except Christmas Day and New Years Day when alternative provision will be provided. The Revenue Officer will be part of a team responsible for the billing, collection and recovery of Council Tax and Business Rates. The Team currently work on a rota basis which involves a combination of home and office working.
Reporting to the Revenues Team Leader, the Revenues Officer will support the Customer Service team by providing advice and support for Council Tax and Business Rates queries. The role will also help to maintain our records so that we can issue bills promptly and accurately. This will include:
· Setting up new accounts and closing old accounts
· Granting exemptions and discounts
· Taking payments
· Answering both written and verbal enquiries
· Assisting in activities relating to the billing and collection of Council Tax and Business Rates
The successful applicant will be flexible, adaptable and possess the ability to learn complex legislation. Previous experience of working within a Revenues/Customer Service environment is desirable although not essential, as full training is provided. You will be working from the office primarily to ensure you are supported into the role, until you have the skills and confidence to work independently.

Cook – 30 hours per week
We’re looking for a Cook to support an existing small team of cooks providing meals across Willowtree, which is a residential service for young people with complex learning and physical disabilities.
The successful candidate will support other cooks with menu planning, food ordering and portion control whilst ensuring that all food safety and Health and Safety Regulations are adhered to.
An understanding and experience of food preparation including to meet special dietary needs is essential.
