The Role.

Are you passionate about improving the systems that support vital social care and education services? Do you enjoy solving problems, supporting colleagues, and helping to deliver high‑quality digital tools that make a real difference? If so, we’d love you to join our Business Intelligence Service as a Systems Project Support Officer.

As a Systems Project Support Officer, you’ll play a key part in supporting, developing, and improving our social care case management systems. You’ll work with colleagues across the council and partner agencies to ensure our systems are accurate, effective, and user‑friendly. Your work will help frontline teams deliver better outcomes for children, adults, and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the design, configuration, and testing of social care case management systems.
  • Helping maintain data accuracy and quality, ensuring information is reliable and compliant.
  • Contributing to project planning and delivery for system upgrades, enhancements, and new modules.
  • Provide high quality support to system users.
  • Working collaboratively with System Project Officers, IT teams, other directorates, and partner agencies.

Work Style.

At North Somerset Council, we offer a hybrid working environment based on four distinct work styles. Depending on the role and personal circumstances, you will fall into one of these categories. However, please note that during the induction period, it may be necessary to spend more time in the office to support your learning and development. We are flexible and open to discussions about your preferred working style, and if you wish to be in the office more frequently, this can be negotiated.

This role falls into the category of Mobile/Field Worker which means you can expect to work in the following way:

  • 0-1 day in the office.
  • Includes field workers who primarily work remotely.
  • Comes into the office for meetings or focused work. Virtual connections with the team are essential, with portable technology supporting work on the go.

About You.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about improving social care and education systems and who possesses the following skills and experience:

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrate technically specific skills relating to the appropriate area of work equivalent to NVQ units at level 3.
  • Experience supporting or administering case management or similar complex information systems.
  • Ability to present information clearly and accurately.
  • The ability to work independently, recognise professional boundaries, and seek advice when needed.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Understanding of Adults Social Care processes, statutory responsibilities, and safeguarding principles.
  • Experience using or supporting SystemC (LCS/LAS), or other social care case management platforms.
