About the Role
This is a hands-on, operational role focused on supporting the safe, effective and welcoming management of the borough’s countryside sites. Working under the direction of the Countryside Officer (Operations), you will help deliver the infrastructure and facilities that enable high-quality recreation across a diverse and expanding portfolio of sites.
You will oversee day-to-day maintenance and site operations, support and supervise Duty Rangers, and work alongside staff and volunteers to ensure tasks are delivered consistently and efficiently across multiple locations. The role combines practical, on-site problem solving with coordination of planned maintenance, asset monitoring and contractor-led works.
Working closely with colleagues, you will help ensure that play areas, paths, car parks, public facilities and visitor information are well maintained and presented to a high standard. You will also contribute to the ongoing development of recreation services by supporting events and commercial activity, and by feeding into longer-term planning for infrastructure, accessibility and visitor experience.
This role suits someone who enjoys balancing practical outdoor work with organisation and coordination, and who is comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day delivery while working within a clear management structure in a public-facing countryside setting.

Senior Systems Management Officer

This is an exciting opportunity for a well organised, enthusiastic individual to join our busy library pool team. The postholder will have excellent customer care skills, enjoy working with the whole community and be confident in working with and providing information to the public in a busy environment.About You:Experience of library work is not essential, but you should share our passion about the role of libraries in promoting reading, literacy and culture. About The Role:North Somerset libraries have a busy calendar of events including rhymetimes, storytimes, school visits, author events, activity clubs (including Lego, board games, colouring and code club) and digital support. The postholder will be supporting different library teams across North Somerset, covering shifts in any of our 11 service points (including the mobile library) as required. Most shifts are allocated on a monthly basis according to your availability, but short-notice shifts are also regularly available to cover unexpected staff shortages due to sickness and other reasons. IT and digital skills are essential as the postholder will be using a Library Management System and Microsoft applications while also troubleshooting for customers. Experience delivering customer service and working with children is also highly desirable. Experience in cash handling would be an advantage.The post holder will not have a fixed base, but will work at any library in North Somerset as required. The Governing Body of Somerville Federation would like to appoint a Nursery Administrative Assistant to join our Federation office team from 23rd February 2026 or earlier if possible. The post is a part time position in term time only and will be located at the Nursery School site on Brentwood Street. The successful candidate would be expected to work Monday to Friday 8.30am to 1.30pm (25 hours per week).&nbsp;
The successful candidate should be highly motivated and organised in their approach to office administration. A good working knowledge of a school office is essential. Strong numeracy, literacy and ICT skills; including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Arbor would be desirable.&nbsp;
An efficient and methodical work ethic is essential in this busy nursery office. The successful candidate must be sympathetic to the care and needs of very young children and possess good interpersonal skills and be able to relate to children aged from 2 to 4 years old.&nbsp;

Location: Civic centre and other locations from time to time (There is a requirement to attend the offices in Wembley or Court at least three times per week).&nbsp;
