About Us

North Somerset Council is committed to providing high-quality services to our community. We are committed to creating a fair, green, and more inclusive environment for all our residents. Join us and contribute to making a positive impact on our community.

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Impact Analyst to join our Educational Psychology and Enhanced Provision team. The team works across statutory, preventative and traded functions to improve outcomes for children and young people in North Somerset, and 'Creating Impact' is at the heart of everything we do.

In this role, you will work closely with the Principal Educational Psychologist to measure, manage and grow the impact of the service. You will collect and analyse performance data, translate findings into clear and accessible reports for stakeholders, and lead the digital systems and quality assurance processes that underpin service delivery.

Working closely with our Educational Psychologists, the role gives genuine insight into how an EP service runs day to day, including its statutory processes, consultation-led practice and service development work. This could suit someone considering a future in educational psychology as much as someone with a background in data or analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, analyse and interpret data relating to traded, statutory and preventative services, and produce annual, mid-year and bespoke impact reports
  • Develop and maintain service dashboards, automated workflows and digital referral systems that improve efficiency and reduce administrative burden
  • Lead the development and review of the service's quality assurance systems
  • Manage service communications, records and key administrative processes
  • Plan and deliver improvement projects, events and training under the guidance of the Senior and Principal EP

This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.

Work Style

At North Somerset Council, we offer a hybrid working environment based on four distinct work styles. Depending on the role and personal circumstances, you will fall into one of these categories. However, please note that during the induction period, it may be necessary to spend more time in the office to support your learning and development. We are flexible and open to discussions about your preferred working style, and if you wish to be in the office more frequently, this can be negotiated.

This role falls into the category of Flexible Worker which means you can expect to work in the following way:

  • 2-3 days in the office
  • Works both from home and the office, depending on the task at hand.
  • Training is provided to help balance work-life and manage time effectively, with an emphasis on communication for team touchpoints and planning in-office days for collaboration.

About You

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about using data and digital systems to improve outcomes for children and young people, and who possesses the following skills and experience:

Essential Criteria:

  • Educated to degree level or with relevant equivalent professional development
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using packages such as Excel or SPSS to analyse datasets
  • Experience with reporting and automation tools (for example Power BI, Power Automate, Microsoft Forms or similar)
  • Ability to manage your own work and that of others to meet agreed deadlines, and to work without direct supervision

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of designing evaluation, feedback or quality assurance measures
  • Experience of working within education, health or local authority settings
