About the role
This role is a Fixed Term Contract with a duration of 2 years.
As a Housing Maintenance and Voids Surveyor, you’ll be an integral part of the Property Repair Service team, delivering effective day to day maintenance, repair and improvement services to our tenants. You’ll be working collaboratively with tenants, contractors, legal representatives and colleagues to deliver high quality outcomes.
This is a varied role where you’ll be undertaking a range of duties such as -
- Inspection of occupied and void properties
- Inspection of properties for mutual exchanges and incentive moves
- Investigation of complaints, disrepair claims and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) cases
- Damp, mould and condensation investigations in line with Awaab’s Law requirements and emerging housing legislation
- Diagnosing building defects and undertaking building pathology investigations
- Producing detailed schedules and specifications of works for repairs operatives and contractors
- Pre and post inspections of responsive repairs, voids and planned works
- Preparing specifications and tender documentation for contractor procurement
- Supporting legal disrepair and insurance claims with technical reports and evidence
- Monitoring contractor performance, quality and compliance
- Contributing to stock condition intelligence and asset management objectives
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and housing standards
About you
You’ll have substantial relevant experience in social housing, property maintenance, building pathology, disrepair, damp and mould investigations, or contract management.
Ideally you’ll also hold a relevant qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, Property Maintenance or a related discipline, but if not we can support you to work towards this.
Alongside this you’ll be a proactive, customer-focused person with experience of modern social housing challenges, including damp and mould, disrepair, building defects, asset compliance, and tenancy sustainability.
